About VWC
Bridging Connections
VWC partners with several organizations and programs dedicated to supporting homeless women veterans through partnerships and services aimed at providing shelter, assistance with rent and utilities, and other supportive services.
The Loudoun County Community Veterans Engagement Board (LCCVEB) is dedicated to supporting the welfare of veterans and their families in Loudoun County. With a mission to provide a strategic response to the needs of veterans through community outreach and advocacy, the LCCVEB encourages collaboration between veterans, service providers, and various stakeholders to address local issues and improve service delivery for veterans and their families.
The Women Veterans Interactive Foundation connects, engages, and empowers Women Veterans with the tools and resources needed to achieve post-military success through financial assistance, workforce development resources, and community.
Good Shepherd of Northern Virginia is another key organization providing comprehensive services for the homeless, near homeless, and those in need, not only women veterans. They aim to ensure housing security, economic independence, and self-sufficiency through various programs, including emergency services, personal development and education, job training and placement, secure housing assistance, mentorship, and motivation.
The Northern Virginia Veterans Association is committed to supporting vulnerable veterans, including women, by providing access to needed services, thereby diminishing the inequities they face. They offer service support requests and resources to help veterans, and there are opportunities to get involved through volunteer work or partnerships.
Northern Virginia Family Service (NVFS) also provides significant support for homeless individuals and families, including a large family homeless shelter in Manassas and financial assistance programs in Fairfax and Prince William counties to prevent homelessness. NVFS’ programs include tenant-based rental assistance, community case management, and permanent housing placement.
These organizations and programs represent a collaborative effort to address the immediate and long-term needs of homeless women veterans in Northern Virginia, offering a network of support to help them regain stability and self-sufficiency.
